Midazolam

Midazolam

Midazolam is the debut release from LunarModule, a deeply personal ambient work shaped by stillness, vulnerability, and endurance. The piece draws its name from the sedative often administered before major medical procedures—a drug composer Danny Widdicombe received throughout his 30 year battle with leukaemia, including during bone marrow biopsies and his transplant.

Rather than telling a literal story, Midazolam evokes the sensation itself: the softening of edges, the gentle dissociation, the quiet drift between awareness and surrender. Layers of restrained, spacious sound unfold slowly, creating a twilight atmosphere that feels suspended and weightless.

Composed as a meditation on resilience, the work invites listeners to meet their own challenges with calm and steadiness. It is music for acceptance and composure—an aural companion designed to foster a stoic, grounded presence in whatever moment one finds themselves.
